Re: Operating Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating an additional
$266,347 into the Office of Housing and Community Development's Community Development
Block Grant(CDBG) account. The original appropriation ordinance for Program Year (PR) 2018
for CDBG funds was for $2,428,055.
This bill appropriates these additional funds into the Administration, Planning &Fair Housing and
the Kula`imano Elderly Renovations accounts, bringing the total appropriation to $2,694,402. If

A. REQUEST:
Please submit the attached bill to.amend Ordinance No. 18-50, as amended, the Operating Budget for
the County of Hawaii for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2019 for the additional Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) revenue received and to appropriate to the General Fund, as follows:
010.3301.19 ' Federal - 2018 Block Grant $ 266,347.00
010.931.5935.79 Kula-imano Elderly Renovations $ 227,467.00
010.931.5935.84 Administration, Planning & Fair Housing $ 38,880.00

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED) :
The Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) anticipated receiving $2,428,055.00 for its
2018 CDBG allocation. However, the County received an additional $266,347.00 above its estimated
allocation. Therefore, the OHCD is requesting to appropriate $266,347.00 more in revenue and to
appropriate to the expenditure accounts as described above.
