Resolution
WHEREAS the County of Hawaii has recently adopted a new General Plan
containing its goals, policies and standards;
WHEREAS inplementing the Plan is the next stage in achieving the
goals set forth therein; and it is recognized that the gap of economic
feasibility and qualified justification needs to be filled as a pre-
requisite to mass improvements;
WHEREAS there has already been authorized by the County Council the
local share of County funds to assist in programming this series of
courses of action in accordance with the General Plan,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the County Council does hereby request
the State Department of Planning and Economic Development and the United
States Department of Housing and Urban Development for assistance in
funding the program for the city of Hilo under the auspices of "701"
Planning Grants in accordance with the work scope and time -cost schedules
hereto attached,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT copies of this resolution be forwarded
to the appropriate State and Federal agencies in compliance with their
requests,
