W'HEP.EAS, Carol and Robert Rogers, better
known to Konans as Aunty Carol and Uncle Bob,
have contributed much to the promotion of arts
and craft in Kona; and
WHEREAS, during the more than five years that
Carol and Bob have willingly devoted to the Kona Art Center
in Holualoa, the Center has become a focal point for arts
and craft lovers everywhere; and
TMEREAS, the encouragement and assistance which they
generously offered the youths, the shut-ins and the adults
of Kona have helped many to discover a new appreciation for
art and the finer things of life; and
FREREAS, through their unselfish desire to help others,
latent talents were developed which have inspired many to
embark on new and rewarding experiences; and
MMEREAS, words alone cannot adequately convey the joy
and delight felt by those who have come to know Aunty Carol
and Uncle Bob for the wonderful people they really are.
NOV., THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it joins all Big Islanders in wishing
Carol and Bob a Happy Fifth Anniversary; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council in recognition
and appreciation to Carol and Bob for their unselfish
contribution in giving freely of their time and energies
does hereby declare February 12, 1972, as AUNTY CAROL AND
UNCLE BOB ROGERS DAY.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the County Clerk be and is
hereby directed to transmit a true copy of this resolution
to Carol and Bob Rogers as evidence of Hawaii County's
gratitude and admiration.
