SUBJECT: Proposed Amendments to Bill No. 108, Draft 5, An Ordinance Amending
Chapter 25, Article 1, Article 2, Article 4, and Article 5, of the Hawai`i
County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, As Amended), Relating to Short-Term
Vacation Rentals.
Attached please find a proposed amendment to Bill No. 108, Draft 5. The proposed amendment
is illustrated below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 108, Draft 5;
material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken, material to be added in underscored.
SECTION 15 OF Bill No. 108, is amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 15. This ordinance shall take effect [upon approval.] on April 1, 2019; except in
the judicial district of Puna where the ordinance shall take effect five years from approval."
A draft copy of the proposed draft 6 of Bill No. 108 that would result from adoption of this
proposed change is not attached due to the limited scope of this proposed amendment.
