Re: Resolution for multi-year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year
for a new multi-year lease agreement for a crawler dozer for the Department of Parks and
Recreation. The equipment currently being used is leased on a monthly basis, so it would
be more cost effective to enter into a lease-to-own agreement. The approximate monthly
cost will be $2,654 per month for 60 months, at which time the crawler dozer will
become the property of the County.

A. REQUEST:
Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for a period of five (5) years for a
Crawler Dozer for the Department of Parks and Recreation Parks Maintenance Division.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Crawler Dozer will be used for ground maintenance and projects island-wide and will be utilized
frequently. The Department is currently renting a crawler dozer monthly so a capital lease will be more cost
effective.
The Crawler Dozer will be leased for a period of five (5) years. The purchase price is estimated at $150,000.
The estimated monthly cost for the lease is $2,654.
Funding for the lease is included in the FY 2018-2019 Budget. This equipment will be leased financed such
that the County will own the equipment at the end of the five (5) year lease.
