PROVIDING FOR THE ACQUISITION OF LAND FOR A PUBLIC PARK
IN PAPAIKOU, SOUTH HILO, HAWAII.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF B-,AWAII:
That it is necessary, for the public use and purpose,
to wit: public park and recreation purposes in Papaikou,
South Hilo, County and State of Hawaii, to take, acquire and
condemn certain land, with all improvements thereon and
appurtenances thereunto belonging, in fee simple absolute,
free and clear of all liens and encumbrances, hereinafter
described and to that end and for these purposes, the
Corporation Counsel of the County of Hawaii be and he is
hereby authorized and empowered to initiate proceedings in
eminent domain, as provided by law, for the taking, acquisition
and condemnation of the land described as follows:
Being a portion of R.P. 7875, L.C. Award 11215,
Apana I to Aarona Kealiiahonu.i, and all of Lot 23
of the Onomea Park Subdivision, Papaikou, South
Hilo, Hawaii.
Beginning at t:he East corner of this lot and on the
North side of a 40 -foot: Road, the coordinates of said point
of beginning referred to Government Survey Triangulation
Station "ALALA" being 3.7,411.50 feet South and 4,905.32
feet East, thence running by azimuths measured clockwise
from True South:
1. 72° 50' 15.00 feet along the north side of
Road B;

200.00 feet the chord

That, in the process of said proceedings in eminent
domain, said Corporation Counsel be and he is hereby
authorized and empowered to negotiate terms of settlement,
subject to the approval of this Council and of the court
before which such proceedings are prosecuted.
