Resolution
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 368 the Council of the County of
Hawaii established the County Consumer Protection Committee; and
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii has established the Office of
Consumer Protection with all the necessary powers to protect the
citizens of our County from unfair or deceptive business practices
of whatsoever nature; and
WHEREAS, to promote uniformity in the protection of the
people of Hawaii County by both the Committee and the State Office
of the Consumer Protection,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that Resolution No. 368 is hereby amended to read "to
be comprised of six members to include: the Director of Research
and Development, one Deputy Corporation Counsel, three members
to be appointed for a two-year term by the Mayor with the approval
of the Council, and the Governor's Liaison Officer for the County
of Hawaii."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be instructed
to transmit copies of this resolution to the Governor of the State
of Hawaii, the Office of the Consumer Protection, and the Governor's
Liaison Officer.
