On May 3rd,we were evacuated from our home on Alapai Street along with all of our neighbors. Life as we had known it was to be gone forever for us. Although our home was spared,we have been trying to stay afloat with constant maintenance &trying to stay ahead of the corrosion of all metal (roofing, catchment, gates, fences, etc.) constant water testing and maintenance of our water supply, not to mention my husband's non-stop effort to try to salvage and restore as much of his landscaping as he possibly could because of the S02 and acid rain. All of this while trying to keep our sanity with the CONSTANT FLOW OF TOUR HELICOPTERS overhead almost EVERY SINGLE DAY! We have difficulty speaking on the telephone, let alone talking copters are hoveringoverhead to get a look at Fissure 8! This was bad to each other when these p enough when the lava was flowing but it still continues to this day. We just want to live in peace! That is why we retired here. Please do NOT PROCEED WITH A LAVA VIEWING STATION IN LEILANI ESTATES! We DO NOT WANT TOURS GOING THROUGH OUR NEIGHBORHOOD! THIS IS OUR HOME—WE WOULD APPRECIATE OUR PRIVACY!
