COUNTY OF HAWAII
2018 OCT —2 P1412: 56
Testimony from Linda Brooks in favor of bill 192 Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2018
Aloha Council Members.
I volunteer at Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary and have since 2012.
In that capacity I often see and hear of animals and residents in need of assistance. It is
my hope that the implementation of bill 192 will bring Hawaii Island will be one step
closer helping all the residents of our county.
I trust the people who have done the research, including Mayor Kim, Council Member
Ohara and the others who are here today taking a stand to bring us closer to caring for
this island and all the people and animals who live here.
I look forward to the animal control contract moving to the Department of Environmental
Management since I believe that department is more closely aligned with the intent of
animal control and I sincerely believe the Hawaii Police Department is incredibly busy
and it is the responsibility of citizens to support them rather than add to their work load.
Please vote in favor of bill 192
Thank you,
Linda Brooks
