Resolution
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii has recently adopted a revised General Plan
document containing the County's goals, policies and standards; and
WHEREAS, the plan contains a recreational element with goals, policies,
standards, and courses of action for each district in generalized statements;
and
WHEREAS, the implementation of these generalized guidelines needs to be
translated into a more detailed and comprehensive program from which Capital
Improvements Projects and overall programs can be formulated and guided more
specifically and meaningfully; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii recognizes the pressing need for such a
study and accordingly agrees to contribute $14,000 in cash and $6,000 in
services in kind for such a project; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the Hawaii County Council that it does hereby request
of the State Department of Planning and Economic Development and the United
States Department of Housing and Urban Development assistance in funding
the Hawaii County Recreation Plan under the auspices of "701" Planning Grants;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be forwarded to
the appropriate State and Federal agencies in compliance with their requests,
