HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 533 Draft 01 1969-1972County of Hawaii—State of Hawaii Resolution No. WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii is charged with the duty to maintain the health, welfare, and safety of the people of the County; and WHEREAS, adequate mosquito control programs are recognized as being essential to the health, welfare, and safety of the people of the County of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, the people of the County of Hawaii have expressed concern over the termination of the night fogging program in the City of Hilo; and WHEREAS, there has been a strong expression of concern over the noticeable increase in the mosquito population since the termination of the night fogging program approximately two years ago; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Honorable John A. Burns, Governor of the State of Hawaii, and the Director of the Department of Health be requested to immediately reinstate the night fogging mosquito control program in the City of Hilo, County of Hawaii, so as to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the people of the County of Ilawaii ; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk forward copies of this resolution to the IFonorable John A. Burns, Governor of the State of Hawaii; Dr. Walter Ouisenberry, Director of Health; and Dr. Walter Batchelder, District Health Officer, Hawaii District, Department of Health. 1972.
