WHEREAS, the U.S. Golf Association sponsors the
National Amateur Public Links Tournament; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Golf Association intends
to bid for the 1975 National Amateur Public Links
Tournament; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Golf Association has done
much to promote the sport of golfing on the Island of Hawaii;
and
WHEREAS, through the sport of golfing, the Hawaii
Island Golf Association has done much to foster a climate
of sportsmanship and general well-being throughout the
island; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to extend its
wholehearted support to the Hawaii Island Golf Association
in the association's bid for the National Amateur Public
Links Tournament; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to assure the
Hawaii Island Golf Association of its continuing support to
host the National Amateur Public Links Tournament, should
the association's bid be successful,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF
THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the County of Hawaii gives its
support to the Hawaii Island Golf Association in its bid
for the 1975 National Amateur Public Links Tournament; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and
is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution
to the Hawaii Island Golf Association for transmittal to
the U.S. Golf Association.
