Resolution No. 554
WHEREAS, the Northern California Chapter of the American
Society of Travel Agents, Inc., has deemed it desirable to
send two contingents to the Big Island following their second
annual Northern California American Society of Travel Agents
Hawaii Product Seminar in Honolulu on September 15, 1972; and
WHEREAS, one contingent of the Northern California
Chapter of the American Society of Travel Agents, Inc., will
visit Kona, Hawaii, while the other will visit Hilo, Hawaii,
on September 16, 1972; and
WHEREAS, the Northern California Chapter is the first
Chapter of the American Society of Travel Agents, Inc., to
accept the invitation extended by the County of Hawaii to
all of the Chapters of the Western Regional Conference in
April, 1972; and
WHEREAS, the people of the County of Hawaii recognize
the distinguished delegates and guests of Northern
California to be our neighbors and friends from across the
ocean; and
WHEREAS, their visit will allow the people of the
County of Hawaii to share with them our Island of Hawaii and
enable them to experience the scenic beauty blending new
Hawaii with old Hawaii which simultaneously calls to mind
such designations as "Big Island," "Volcano Island,"
"Orchid Island" and "Island of Contrasts"; and
WHEREAS, the people of the Island of Hawaii welcome
the opportunity to demonstrate their well-known reputation
of being warm and gracious hosts to visitors of its shores;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII, on behalf of the people of the Island of
Hawaii, that the most cordial welcome and the fondest Aloha
is extended to the delegates, guests and friends of the
Northern California Chapter of the American Society of
Travel Agents, Inc., with the hope that they will come to
love our Big Island as we do.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and
he is hereby directed to forward a copy of this Resolution
to the Northern California Chapter of the American Society
of Travel Agents, Inc.
