HRREAS , on September I S , 1972, MR, HERBERT A . WATSON,
Supervisor of the Election Division, Office of the County
Clerk, County of Hawaii., was chosen Hawaii County Government
Supervisory Employee of the Year, and was awarded a Certificate
of Appreciation in recognition of outstanding public services
rendered to the County of Hawaii and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, MR. "ZRBERT A. WATSON was nominated as a candidate
for County Government Supervisory Employee of the Year because
of his sustained superior performance and his demonstrative
integrity and dedication to public service in the patient and
courteous manner in which he supervises voter registration
in the County of ,Hawaii.; and
WHEREM, MR. 'EMRBBRT A. WATSON has made notable accomplishments
in improving the election: process in the County of Hawaii.,
including the following:
(a) Assisted with the modernization of the County's
election system;
(b) Responsible for the effective and unity ballot
delivery and collection system employed by Hawaii County
during the last two elections for the electronic voting
systems,;
(c) served as Hawaii County's chief instructor of
voter registration;
(d) Serves as coordinator of all voter registration
programs in the County;
(a) Instrumental in .initiating the voter education
program for the schools;
M Assisted in the preparation of the slide
presentation used for voter education and training;
and
HBREM, MR, HORBERT A. WATSON has been endorsed for County
Goverment Supervisory Smployee of the Year by the Chairman of
the Hawaii County Democratic Party and by the Chairman of the
Hawaii County Republican Party and by Lt. Governor George R.
Ariyoshi and others for his dedicated efforts and enthusiasm
in fulfilling his responsibilities as Supervisor of Elections i
and
WHEREAS , the Council of the County of Hawaii is very
proud and honored to have such an outstanding supervisory
employee as MR, HERBERT A. WATSON in the County goverment and
wishes to express its congratulations and gratitude for his
outstanding services and accomplishments,
N(Wo THEREFORE* BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY of HAWAII that MR. HERBERT A. WATSON be and is hereby
commended and congratulated for being chosen Hawaii County
Government Supervisory Employee of the Year and is hereby
extended theCouncil's sincere appreciation and "Mahalo" in
recognition of his continuing and outstanding *ork as a dedicated
public servant of the people of the County of Hawaii,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a true copy of this resolution
be transmitted by the County Clerk, to MR. HERBEW A. WATSON as
evidence of the gratitude of the people of they County of Hawa i i
and of the County Council's deur appreciation and respect for
MR. 'NATO 's untiring devotion and enthusiasm in serving the
people as Supervisor of Elections for the "County of Hawaii .
