Aloha!
Our home of 30 years is in Kapoho Beach Lots.We are asking that you recover the public highways as soon as
possible so that our neighbors whose homes are still standing but isolated can get back to them.Many homes,have
gardens that include fruit trees,greenhouses and other landscaping that helped sustain those families.The wild
growth will overwhelm that hard work if they cannot return to tend them soon.I know how much it costs our family
to buy all our fruits and vegetables now that we have lost our gardens under the lava.Also,we know how much
maintenance homes need in the Kapoho climate.Houses will deteriorate unless owners can get in to take care of
their houses.Please help our neighbors.
As for us Kapoho coastal lot owners who have already lost everything,we ask that 132 by fully restored to link with
lighthouse road so that we can take that route to get close to our former neighborhood.Those of us not able to trek
over the lava flow could then go down there and see the new coastline and visit our home area again.It would help
us so much to work through the loss of homes and community,and give us hope that we could return when the lava
is cool,restore our private roads from the county road and build again.
