To Whom It May Concern,
I do not agree that Coastal Puna Parkway should be connected to Govt. Beach Road
in order to bypass Honolulu Landing. It would be a waste of County funds to build a
new road one block from an existing access road. Coastal Puna Parkway is also
entirely within the tsunami evacuation zone. It is shortsighted to change the alignment
of these roads before there is a long-term master plan in place to provide a coastal
connection between Hawaiian Paradise Park and Four Corners.
Residents in Hawaiian Shores and Recreational Estates who live on Coastal Puna
Parkway are unaware that our Board of Directors would like to dedicate the road to
the County, if indeed this is true. The members of this Home Owner's Association did
not vote on this matter and have been given no opportunity to offer input.
It is reprehensible to give neighbors a two day window to respond to this Resolution,
one of those days being a Sunday. At the very least we request a delay in decision
so that neighbors who are impacted may have time to respond.
