W, , HERBERT C. HIP AN has for many years made
exceptional contributions to the cattle industry; and
WHEREAS,, HERBERT C, SHIPKM"s I ani work in the
area of conservation has brought about the preservation of
the None bird --the State bird of Hawaii,-. and
WHERWIS, EUMERT C. SHIPKM has been instrumental in
establishing a Pacific Tropical Botanical Garden; and
WHERFAS, HERBERT C. SHIPMAN continues to provide the people
of the Big Island with an outstanding example of a person deeply
concerned with the welfare of his counity and the preservation
and conservation of natural resources of the State of Hawaii,

THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in recognition of his 'aany, many lasting
contributions to the people of the Big Island and State of Hawaii,,
