I am not a traveler that enjoys corporate boxes.
I am a traveler that revels in the different,the indigenous,the characterful places to stay that tend to be in the areas
of unspoiled natural beauty their owners also love.I have had the honor of staying on your island three times in the
last 5 years.I choose the Hilo,Volcano or Puna areas due to that sense of being as one with the forces that have
shaped your wonderful island.I love the rain,the vast expanses of lava,the steam plumes,the gloriously abundant
flora that isn't to be found in the excruciatingly manicured lots surrounding larger,more impersonal places to stay.
I entreat you to consider grandfathering in those wonderful,uniquely Hawaiian places which have been paying their
dues and following the rules over the past years.It would be an irreparable loss to the personality of Hawaii to slash
such individuality from the roster of places to enjoy.
