RE: Bill 280, Draft 2
Rglating - to S_i3eed Hu s on County Highways
Dear Chair DeLima and Members:
I am sending back Bill. 280, Draft 2 without my
signature.
We appreciate community desire to control speeding
vehicles in their neighborhoods but both our police and fire
departments express great concerns with how these roadway
humps will affect their duties.
I will allow this Bill. to become law without my
signature so that this procedure can be tried where
determined to be appropriate. ' The implementation of the
program will be with the consultation of the police and fire
departments.
Sincerely,
r'
SHIRO
Mayor, County of .Hawaii
