RESOLUTION NO. 756 19
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL'S HEARTFELT
GRATITUDE TO DRU MAMO KANUHA FOR HIS YEARS OF DEDICATED
SERVICE TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, Dru Mamo Kanuha represented Council District 7 in the 2012-2014, 2014-
2016, and 2016-2018 Council terms; and
WHEREAS, during the past six years, Dru Mamo Kanuha has served as Chair of the
Public Works and Parks and Recreation Committee (2012-2014), Vice -Chair of the Committee
on Environmental Management (2012-2014), and Chair of the Committee on Governmental
Relations and Economic Development (2016-2018); and
WHEREAS, Dru Mamo Kanuha served honorably as Chair of the Hawaii County
Council in the 2014-2016 term; and
WHEREAS, Dru Mamo Kanuha has admirably took on additional leadership roles as a
legislator by serving as President of the Hawaii State Association of Counties (HSAC), and
Board Member of both the National Association of Counties (NACo), and the Western Interstate
Region (WIR); and
WHEREAS, Dru Mamo Kanuha was elected to represent District 3 as a Hawaii State
Senator on November 6, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Senator Dru Mamo Kanuha has compiled an exemplary attendance and
voting record for all Council meetings held during his years in office; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it
hereby extends its sincerest gratitude to Senator Dru Mamo Kanuha for all of his years of service
and offers its best wishes for his continued health, success, happiness, and good fortune in his
personal and professional life.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Honorable Dru Mamo Kanuha, Hawaii State Senator.
