Resolution No. 1 01
RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION OF HAWAII MEMORIAL GARDENS, INC., FOR
EXPANSION OF CEMETERY IN KAIEIE HOMESTEADS, PAPAIKOU, SOUTH HILO, HAWAII.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the 'provisions of County of Hawaii
Ordinance No. 66, the Hawaii Memorial Gardens, Inc., has applied for
the expansion of a cemetery in Kaieie Homesteads, Papaikou, South Hilo,
Hawaii, and
WHEREAS, the applicant has complied with all the provisions of
said ordinance, except for the requirement of owning the said cemetery
land in fee simple,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL in and for
the County of Hawaii that it hereby approves the application of Hawaii
Memorial Gardens, Inc., to expand a cemetery in Kaieie Homesteads,
Papaikou, South Hilo, County and State of Hawaii, containing an area
of 1.34 acres and located approximately 2 miles mauka of the Hawaii
Belt Road in the Kaieie Homesteads area, Papaikou, South Hilo, Hawaii,
more particularly described as being a 'portion of Lot 20 and identified
as Tax Map Key 2-7-06:17. The approval is subject, however, to the
following conditions:
1. That the said Hawaii Memorial Gardens, Inc., receive a con-
veyance in fee simple from the Mauna Kea Corporation to the above
described land.
2. That all other applicable ordinances shall be complied with.
Unless the conditions are complied with within one year from date
of this approval, the approval shall become null and void and the land
shall revert to its use prior to the granting of the approval.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Planning Commission is hereby
instructed to follow up and report to the County Council whether the
conditions have been fully complied.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy each of this resolution be
transmitted to the Hawaii Memorial Gardens, Inc., the Planning Commis-
sion, Department of Public Works and to the Department of Water Supply,
County of Hawaii.
