WHEREAS, the sudden and untimely death of JACK HALL on January 2,
1971, is deeply regretted by the people of the State of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, his was a career of service not only to the laboring
people, but also to society and country; and
WHEREAS, during his long career as a labor organizer, he brought
mutual understanding and respect between labor and management and was
instrumental in bringing about substantial changes in the social and
political structure of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS,, JACK HALL will be remembered not only for his lasting
accomplishments but also for his sincerity, trustworthiness,
dedication and foresight; and
WHEREAS, the passing of JACK HALL .is a great, loss to his family,
his friends, his organization, community and nation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it hereby records its profound sorrow and sympathy on the
tragic death of JACK HALL and expresses its heartfelt sympathy to the
surviving members of his bereaved family.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and is hereby
directed to forward a true copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Yoshiko Hall,
his widow.
