WHEREAS, the HFwaii Jaycees, in con iunction Zvith the
United States Jaycees Agricultural rerogrami -annually
recognizes the State's outFtandinq ycunq farmer who has
promoted and advanced agriculture and ranching programs;and
WHEREAS, JAMES YAMASHITA, ''O, reeident of Hilo, County
and State of Hr -wail, has been rr-scognized by the Hac,,raii Jaycees
as the Statpls outstanding young farmer for his contributions
to the growth of the papaya industry and econom-ic grol�ith of the
County of Hawpii; and
WHERE -AS, the Statewide laurel,7, bestowed upon MR. YAMASHITA are
but further Pvidence. of his widely appreciated and dedicated endeavors
to advance the agricultural programs in the area of papaya farming;
NOW, THERFFCRE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it P4ytends an arnrpciativp "mahalo" to JFAIMES YAMASHITA
for his Pyceptional and. enduring contributions to the Big Island

as a leader in papaya farming of Statewide prominence,
