Resolution 321
WHEREAS, the Small Business Administration of the federal
government has authority to provide assistance in the form of
loans to victims of natural disasters; and
WHEREAS, the businessmen and other persons in the Kailua-Kona
area of this County have been subjected to tremendous property
damage and losses incurred in a recent disaster; and
WHEREAS, this Honorable Body, on behalf of the businessmen
and other persons of Kailua-Kona, would like to go on record in
support of any expeditious and appropriate assistance which may
be rendered by the Small Business Administration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the Small Business Administration be urged to provide
expeditious and appropriate assistance in the form of financial
loans to the businessmen and other persons in the Kailua-Kona area
affected by the recent disaster; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk be and is hereby instructed
to transmit a copy of this resolution to Mr. George Shiroma, SBA
Hawaii Regional Director; Representative Patsy T. Mink, Representative
Spark M. Matsunaga, Senator Daniel K. Inouye and Senator Hiram L. Fong.
