WHEREAS, the 1971 'Western Regional Conference of the
National Association of Counties was held in the city of Milo,
County of Hawaii, on march 1 - 4, 1971; and
WHEREAS* SHUNICH I KIMCiRA, Mayor, County of Hawaii, exercising
excellent environmental control, did provide sunny weather for the
greater part of the Conference; and
WHEREAS, ROBERT SHIOJ'I, through his outstanding planning
and coordination of the activities held during the Conference,
contributed greatly to its success and
WHEREAS, RUDY Bo LEGASPI, through his planning of the Luau
did give the visitors to our County a taste of our Hawaiian
culture; and
WHEREAS, the success of the Conference was due, in a large
,part, to the patient and industrious efforts of the members of
the County government of the County of Hawaii,
NOW,, THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County
of Hawaii that it commends MAYOR KIMURA, ROBERT SHIOJI, RUDY B.
LEGASPI, and all those County employees whose cooperation and
generous efforts were responsible for the successful outcome of
the 1971 Western Regional Conference of the National Association
of Counties.
