Resolution
WHEREAS, SHUNICHI KIMURA, Mayor of the County of Hawaii,
State of Hawaii, has proclaimed the month of April, 1971, as
Cancer Control Month; and
WHEREAS, the annual Cancer Crusade is presently underway
to raise funds to combat this disease and to alert the public
of the importance of periodic examinations and the importance
of early detection and treatment; and
WHEREAS, the early detection and treatment may result in
the saving of many lives which would otherwise be taken by this
disease; and
WHEREAS, present and future research into the cause,
manner, and treatment of this illness shows great promise
into new ways of detection, treatment and care for this disease,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the citizens of this County be encouraged to
support the American Cancer Society, Hawaii Unit, to the fullest
extent in its campaign during this year's annual Cancer Crusade.
