WHEREAS, NOR1,AAN SAKATA, of Kailua, Kona, has been
declared Red Cross Volunteer of the Year from Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, NOPJ4AN. SAKATA has served the Red Ct-ccs as
Vice Chairman for its Big Island Disaster Committee for
the past twelve years; and
WHEREAS, NOR11AN SAKATA has shown outstanding leadership
in directing the Red Cross in its operations during natural
disasters; and
WHEREAS, the people of the Big Island are grateful for
his devoted service during such times of need,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED 3Y THI.E. COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it congratulates MR. NORPoV�1 -SAKATA of
Kailua, Kona, on being named 1971 Red Cross Volunteer of the
Year from Hawaii.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and he
is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to
PAR. NORMAN SAKATA and to the Hawaii State Chapter, National
Red Cross.
