WHEREAS, MISS SHARON LUI of Naa.lehu, Hawaii, had
placed among the top three in the recently held state-
wide Spelling Bee competitions; and
WHEREAS, MSS LUI'S third place finish in a field
of seventeen top spellers from throughout the state,
was indeed an outstanding achievement; and
WHEREAS, the poise and sportmanship that MISS LUI
demonstrated throughout the competitions More a T.V.
audience of thousands is indicative of the fine young lady
that she really is;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL
OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it takes this means to commend
MISS SHARON LUI for her notable performance in the 1971
Hawaii State Spelling Bee 'Competitions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that true copies of this resolution
be forwarded to MISS SHARON LUI and to Mr. Thomas Higa,
principal of Naalehu School.
