Resolution
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 264-1, H.R.S., the County Council has authority to
abandon County Highways by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County Council desires to abandon that certain County highway known
as a portion of Kukui Street, situated in Honokaa, Hamakua, Hawaii, and more particu-
larly described as Parcel 1, containing an area of 8993 sq. ft., in the map attached
hereto as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Land and Natural Resources has requested the
County of Hawaii to abandon a portion of Kukui Street to be set aside to the Department
of Education as additions to the Honokaa High and Elementary School;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
portion of Kukui Street delineated as Parcel 1 on the map attached hereto and marked
Exhibit A, be and is hereby declared abandoned as public highway.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor be authorized to convey said parcel, together
with Parcel 2, to the State on a gratis basis.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be authorized and directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to Mr. Sunao Kido, Mr. James Detor, Mrs. Mildred Yamamoto,
Mr. Herbert Watanabe and Department of ?'jblic Works of the County of Hawaii.
