Resolution No. 363
WHEREAS, the people of the State of Hawaii are
dependent upon air transportation services for travel
between the islands; and
WHEREAS, the air passenger and cargo services
provided by Aloha Airlines, Inc., are necessary and
convenient for the welfare and economy of the people of
the State of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, termination or disruption of these essential
air transportation services furnished by Aloha Airlines,
Inc., will cause irreparable hardship and inconvenience
to the people of the County of Hawaii as well as to the
people of the entire State;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL
of the County of Hawaii, State of Hawaii, that it express
and does hereby express to the Civil Aeronautics Board its
full and earnest support of the petition of Aloha Airlines,
Inc., for temporary subsidy under Civil Aeronautics Board
Docket No. 23304.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and
is hereby instructed to forward copies of this resolution
to the Civil Aeronautics Board and to Mr. Frank Der Yuen,
Vice President and Corporate Secretary, Aloha Airlines, Inc.,
The Honorable Hiram L. Fong, The Honorable Daniel K. Inouye,
The Honorable Spark M. Matsunaga and The Honorable Patsy T. Mink.
