WHEREAS, CAP TAIN JOHN301 KAHAILI , %.-)rR. , has been
honored as the Island of Hcawaiits "Outstand—ing Fireman
of the Year"; and
WHEREA'S, the distinction bestowed on CAPTAIN
TOHMSON KAHILIs JR -9 at th(�., awards ceremony in Honolulu,

is richly deserved by him fcr his outstanding service in
the rescue of an injured hiker stranded on an impassable
ledge in Awini Valley; and
WHEREAS, his unselfish and devoted service exemplifies
his dedicated efforts to make the community a better place
in which to live;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it does hereby congratulate and commend
CAPTAIN JOHNSON KAHILI, JR., for being named Outstanding
Fireman of the Year for Hawaii County for 1970.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be
instructed to forward a true copy of this resolution to
CAPTAIN JOMISON KAHIL19 JR.
