HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 374 Draft 01 1969-1972, -.01 County of Hawaii—State of Hawaii Resolution No. 374 WHEREAS, United Air Lines has requested air shipment rates on papaya from Hilo and Honolulu to the U.S. Eastern and Midwestern cities be lowered by as much as 54 per cent; and WHEREAS, a request for lowering the shipping rates has been filed with the Federal Civil Aeronautics Board; and WHEREAS, Mainland cities specified are Baltimore, Boston, Buffalo, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia and Washington; and WHEREAS, the County Council, on behalf of all of the citizens of the Island of Hawaii, wishes to commend United Air Lines for its action towards the reduction of air freight rates; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL of the County of Hawaii that United Air Lines be commended for its action towards the reduction of air freight rates; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to Mr. James Ramsey, UAL News Bureau Director, and to the Civil Aeronautics Board.
