WHEREAS, the State Executive Board of the United
Public Workers will be honoring past presidents of the
UPW this month; and
WHEREAS, JOHN HAILI, who served as president of the
United Public Workers in 1953, is highly revered and respected
by members of the UPW; and
WHEREAS, MR. HAILI has, throughout the years, shown great
leadership, dedication and unflinching loyalty; and
WHEREAS, MR. HAILI is also one of the early founders of the
UPW and has a highly respected career of service to the UPW=
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it congratulate MR. JOHN HAILI for his outstanding service
to the United Public Workers as past president of the UPW; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the county Clerk be and he is hereby
directed to forward a copy of this resolution to MR. JOHN HAILI.
