WHEREAS, the State Executive Board of the United
Public Workers will be honoring past presidents of the
UPW this month; and
WHEREAS, JACKSON AH CHIN has served in an outstanding
capacity as president of the United Public Workers during
the years 1954 to 1956 and 1958 through 1962; and
WHEREAS , JACKSON AH CHIN has contributed greatly to the UPW
and has been most effective in organizing, supporting and contributing
to the ideals of the United Public Workers; and
AREAS, MR. AH CHIN has time and time again, displayed examples
of courage, fortitude and loyalty in each and every one of his activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it congratulate MR. JACKSON AH CHIN for his outstanding
service to the United Public Workers as past president of the UPWI and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and he is hereby
directed to forward a copy of this resolution to MR. JACKSON AH CHIN.
