HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 391 Draft 01 1969-1972County of Hawaii --State of Hawaii Resolution WHEREAS, the people of Hawaii County, as well as the people of all Hawaii, are experiencing the adverse effects of the West Coast dock strike; and WHEREAS, continued prolongation of the strike will cause untold hardships, losses, and general economic deterioration among the people and businesses throughout Hawaii; and WHEREAS, the people of this County desire that the Governor of the State of Hawaii, as spokesman for all Hawaii, use the powers and influence of the Governor's office to bring the WestCoast dock strike to a speedy end; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Governor of the State of Hawaii, be, and is hereby requested to use the powers and influence of his office to bring the West Coast dock strike to a speedy end; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a true copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the Honorable John A. Burns, Governor of the State of Hawaii. Dated at of August, 1971.
