WHEREAS, the people of the Island of .Hawaii, State of
Hawaii, have been greatly honored by the large interest shown
in the County of Hawaii by Me TAK.EJ IRO WATANABE , Chairman of
the Board of Mitsubishi Estate Company, Ltd.; and
WHEREAS, MR. WATAIME, one of the most illustrious and
foremost entrepreneurs from the great nation of Japan, has
demonstrated a great desire and sincere .interest in partici-
pating in the orderly growth of this island through ventures
in Hilo Lagoon Hotel and proposed hotels in Banyan Drive in
Hilo and Keauhou, Kona; and
WHEREASs MR* WATANABE is internationally recognised as
one of the most respected businessmen from Japan, having
among his business affiliations and appointments, the following
positions:

President,, Tokyo Bay Development Company
President, Tokyo Transportation Building Company
Director, Mitsubishi Construction Company
Director, Hotel Okura Company
Director, Hakone Kanko Hotel. Company

WHEREAS, the County Council of the County of Hawaii,
on behalf of all the people of the Island of Hawaii, desires
to convey its hest wishes and Aloha to MR. TAKEJIRO WATANABE
for his sincere interest in this island and to recognize
MR, WATANABE as an honorary citizen of the island;
NOW, THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
County of Hawaii that MR, TAKEJIRo WATANABE be and is hereby
extended the best wishes and Aloha from the people of this
island and is hereby designated as an honorary citizen of
the Island of Hawaii.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and he
is hereby directed to forward a true copy of this Resolution
to MR. TAEEJ IRO WATANAB E .
