Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 205, reports as follows:
Bill No. 205, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, via Communication No. 1153, dated October 15,
2018, amends Ordinance No. 05-66, which reclassified lands from Agricultural—Twenty Acres
(A-20a) to Agricultural —Ten Acres, (A-10a) at Kaloko, North Kona, Hawai`i, covered by Tax
Map Key: 7-3-027:007 (Applicant: Bruce B. A. and Austin K. P. Easley) (Area: 20.254 acres).
Mayor Harry Kim forwarded the Leeward Planning Commission's favorable recommendation
for this amendment for this request for a five-year time extension to comply with Condition D
(secure Final Subdivision Approval), which would allow the applicant to apply to subdivide the
property into two lots of approximately 10 acres in size. The lots are intended to be used as
residential/agricultural lots, with a dwelling on each proposed lot. The property is located along
the west side of Kaloko Drive approximately 4,000 feet mauka from the Haleamau Street-Kaloko
Drive intersection.
Planning Consultant Gregory R. Mooers appeared together with applicant, Austin K. P. Easley.
Mr. Mooers explained that the applicant was in agreement with the new terms and conditions of
approval and concurs with all recommendations.
There was no discussion. The vote was then taken on the motion to move this measure to
Council with a positive recommendation and passed with seven "ayes."
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 205, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
