Once again I write to you and hope that you will all change your minds about the new vacation rental bill.As I told
you before we are Canadians so as a result are unable to live here for a full year.We rent out our home with Hawaii
life and have a manager so the home stays safe.We are in Hawaiian Beaches which is residential.Our neighbours
have become our friends and some of them we employ.We spend a substantial amount of money every year in our
area and our company contributes as well.Many people will loose their jobs and Hawaii will loose a lot of money in
tax dollars.We pay our TA and GE taxes.You cannot regulate wether someone is paying taxes now,I cannot see
how you will regulate the rentals after this bill.Go after the ones not paying tax dollars.Most of the mega rentals
upsetting neighbourhoods are in the tourist areas where they will not be affected.Our small homes in the
neighbourhood are not the problem they are.
When the volcano erupted our home was opened up to displaced people for two months as were many.Where would
these people gone if not for our generosity.
We are back on island now and are saddened by what has happened to the Puna area.It needs time to recover or it
will die.
