This appointment is effective February 1, 2019. <br /> Mr. Yamamoto, a registered Professional Engineer, has over 26 years of experience as <br /> an engineer and program management professional. He has held the position of Building Chief, <br /> Department of Public Works, since 2012, and has worked his way up within the Department of <br /> Public Works since joining the County as a Civil Engineer III in 1995. He fulfills the five-year <br /> minimum administrative capacity requirement far this position. <br /> His resume is attached for your information. <br /> Mr. Yamamoto will serve a term co-terminus with my tenure, which will end on <br /> December 7, 2020. <br /> Pursuant to Rule 5(6)(g) of the Rules of Procedure and Organization of the Council of <br /> the County of Hawai'i, we respectfully request a waiver of this nomination through the Public <br /> Works Committee so that it may be considered by the full County Council on January 9, 2019. <br /> Thank you for your favorable consideration of this appointment.
