He was instrumental in getting the Honomu community <br /> playground, the neighborhood watch, renovation of the Honomu gym, and assisted with <br /> displaced Hamakua'plantation workers when the Hamakua sugar mill closed. <br /> Mr. Mattos states he is not affiliated with any political party.
