Dear Chair Chung and Council Members:
In accordance with the County Charter§13-4 (c), I am pleased to submit Shellie Bee
Manulani Naungayan of council district 3 for reappointment to the Public Access, Open
Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission (PONC).
The previous Council term confirmed Ms. Naungayan on April 25, 2018 and she is now
eligible to serve a full term that would expire on December 31, 2023.
At the time of her original appointment, several Council Members spoke in favor of Ms.
Naungayan. She is retired after 34 years as a teacher and remains active in her church
community. Ms. Naungayan expresses that-she would like to continue serving on the
Commission, which has been a positive experience for her.
