WHEREAS, the 1973 Big Island Interscholastic Federation
football season has ended with victory and the championship
for the Honokaa High School Dragons; and
WHEREAS, following a season opening defeat, the Dragons
came back with seven straight gins to take the BIIF football
title and make good pre --season predictions favoring Honokaa
as the team to beat in 1973; and
WHEREAS, the Dragons of Honokaa, after 16 Long years,
has finally repeated its feat of 1957 by capturing undisputed
and unshared title to the BIIF Football Crown; and
WHEREAS, with the closing of the football, season, Dragon
coach Clarence bills concludes a most impressive football
career, first as a star of the 1957 championship team and now
as the head coach of the 1973 BIIF Football. Champs.
NOW, THE- REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it takes this means to congratulate the
Dragons of Honokaa High School for a most successful year as
Champs of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation 1973
football season; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii be and is hereby directed to forward a copy of this
resolution to the Honokaa High and Elementary School.
