WHEREAS, VIR. YEE CHOOK AKANA has retired on December 29,
in the year I'l'ineteen Kundred and Seventy. -Three,, after more
than forty-four years of dedicated and loyal service to the
citizenry of the County and State of Hawaii, as Payroll and
Disbursement Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, MR. Y. C. AKIANA started public employment on
August 1, 1929, with the Hawaii County Treasurer's Office,
holding various positions, culminating in more than forty-four
years of continuous public service,- and
X,11EREASI MR. Y. C. AKANA has the honorable distinction
of being the employee with one of the longest years of public
service in the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS., the people of the County and State of Hawaii
are extremely grateful to have had the services of such a
dedicated and admired public servant in MR. Y. C. AKAFA; and
WHEREAS, MR. Y. C. AKANA has, through his dedication to
this County, earned the lasting admiration, respect and
friendship of his fellow workers, his many friends and numerous
Big Islanders who have had the opportunity and good fortune to.
work and be associated with him,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE -SOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HATIAII that it extends to MR. Y. C. AKANA its
heartfelt "Mahalo" for his dedicated service to the people
of the County and the State of Hawaii.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and is
hereby directed to forward a true copy of this resolution to
YR. Y. C. AKW7A as evidence of the gratitude of the people of
the County of Hawaii, who in this humble manner express their
lasting admiration, respect, friendship and wishes for a yet
productive and satisfying life of retirement.
