CHUCK has devoted over 36 years to a distincuished career in education in hiawaii, beginning, as a teacher on Molokai, rising through several principalships on the Big Island, and capping his professional life as a top-flight administrator as District Superintendent of the Department of Education, from which position he has recently retired; and WHEREAS, HARPY C. CHUCK has made outstanding contributions to the betterment of the Big Island community by his active participation and leadership in numerous civic organizations; and WHEREAS, HARRY C. CHUCK has maintained high standards of professionalism in his chosen field by diligent pursuit of advanced studies and participation in educational organizations, seminars and conferences; and WHIEREAS, HARRY C. CHUCK has been blessed with a marvelous remory that can recall names and faces of former students and colleagues over the many 'long years of his teaching and -.3 administrative career; and WHEREAS,. above all his myriad qualities, HARRY C. CHUCK brings a spirit of warmth, exuberance, and friendliness to everyone he neets and brightens the day for all- and WHEREAS, the people of the County of Hawaii are extremely grateful for his many years of dedicated service in education as well as in a wide range of community activities, NOW, THEREFOREr BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extends to HARRY C. CHUCK a heartfelt "flahalo" to express its deep appreciation for his unselfish endeavors on behalf of his fellow educators and citizens, and that it further extends to him its warmest best wishes for a continuing productive and satisfying life of retirements and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVFD that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be and is hereby directed to transmit a true copy of this resolution to HARRY C.
