WHEREAS, the Silver Beaver is the highest award
presented by the Aloha Council, Boy Scouts of America,
for outstanding volunteer Scouters; and
WHEREAS, the Aloha Council at its recognition dinner
held in Honolulu on February 21, 1974, honored MR. LEON A.
THEVENIN, former manager of Hamakua Mill Company as
recipient of the Silver Beaver Award; and
WHEREAS, MR. LEON A THEVENIN who was instrumental
in the planning and development of Camp Honokaia on the
Big Island has demonstrated outstanding leadership and
service to the Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS, MR. LEON A THEVENIN was past president of
the Puako Community, manager of the Hamakua Mill Company,
and serves on the State Advisory Council of the University
of Hawaii College of Tropical Agriculture,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it takes these means to congratulate
MR. LEON A.THEVENIN for being selected recipient of the
Silver Beaver Award.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and
is hereby directed to forward a true copy of this resolution
to MR. LEON A THEVENIN as evidence of gratitude for services
to the Boy Scouts of America.
