WHEREAS, RAY YUEN is leaving the Hawaii Tribune -Herald after having unselfishly and wholeheartedly devoted 38 years of his life in order that the people of the County and State of Hawaii might be serviced with an outstanding newspaper and news source-, and WHEREAS, RAY YUEN served the Tribune -Herald in all phases of the newspaper operation, including being the editor of the paper for the past 12 years since 1962; and WHEREAS, RAY YUEF has, through his dedication to his work and his compassion and fairness in dealing with others, earned the lasting admiration of his fellow workers, his .any friends, and numerous Bic Islanders who have had the opportunity and good fortune to work and associate with him; and WHEREAS, the people of the County and State of Hawaii are extremely grateful to have had the benefit of a newspaperman who has contributed so much of himself in order that people might be informed, thereby making the County of Flawaii a better place to live; and WHEREAS, the Honorable U.S. Senator Hiram L. Fong has recognized the outstanding ability and expertise of RAY YUEN by appointing hir. to the important position of legislative assistant to the Honorable U.S. Senator Fong, NOW,, THEREFOREr BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County of Hawaii that it extends to RAY YUEN its warmest I .'mahalo" from the people of the County of Hawaii for his many years of dedication in making the Big Island a better place to live, together with the sincere best wishes of this Council in. his new position as legislative assistant to the Monorable U.S. Senator Hiram L. Fong and all of his future undertakings.
