WHEREAS, DAVID G. REH ANN is scheduled to visit the Big
Island on Xay 10j 11 and 12, 1974; and
WHEREAS, DAVID G. REHHANN is widely known in Hawaii and
throughout the world as a former POW of the Horth Vietnamese
whose picture on posters, envelopes and matchbook covers dramatized
the plight of American POWs in Vietnam; and
WHEREAS, since his release, DAVID G. REB ANN has helped to
organize and is the present Chairman of the citizens'
organization "Antelope Valley Remmers" which is dedicated to
constructing a memorial to those who have served the United States
of America- and
WHEREAS, as a former Navy fighter pilot who holds three
air medals, two Purple Heart's, three citations from the Republic
of Vietnam, and having spent more than six years as a prisoner
of war, DAVID Go REH ANN is a, truly remarkable individual
and great American,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL GP THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it takes this means to welcome DAVID G.
REHMANA and his another CATHERINE REHMA N to the Big Island.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the grateful people of Hawaii
County extend their best wishes to DAVID G. REHMANN in his pursuit
of public office in his home state of California.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a true copy of this Resolution
be transmitted to DAVID G. REHMANN during his visit to the
Big Island..
