WHEREAS, the departure of Shunichi Kimura to a Judgeship
of the Third Circuit Court has caused an interim vacancy in
the office of the Mayor in the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the legacy and the commitments proposed, initiated
and accomplished by the former Mayor requires that the succeeding
administration maintain and perpetuate the same dedicated efforts
to continue the successful and remarkable achievements gained in
the past years; and
WHEREAS, the elevation of Managing Director BRUCE MXCALL as
the new Mayor of the County of Hawaii and the succeeding appoint-
ment of 24EG '.til Rost as the new Managing Director are events that
assure the continuity of capable men within the County's adminis-
tration; and
WHETS, MAYOR McCALL and MANAGING DIRECTOR KON have assumed
a highly important responsibility requiring the cooperation of
our entire community,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that during the tenure of these
capable and astute gentlemen that the Hawaii County Council offers,
first, its congratulations :dor their promotion into esteemed posi-
tions and, secondly, extends to both a pledge of continued support
during their term of office.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County
of Hawaii remit true copies of this resolution to Magor Bruce
McCall and Managing Director Megumi Kon.
