for 12 years, has nolo developed into an active Cultural and

WHEREAS, beainn.J..ng July .1.6 through July .28, 1974,
another contingency of govel-riment officials, community
leaders and entertainers .f. rola Oshima Tsland will be here
to visit and partici nat-e in the Hawaii island Japanese
Chamber of Commerce's- 13th Annual International Festival;
and
WHEREAS, 1iis d,.-_11egation will be headed by the Honorable
Mavor Matsuri Ishii- Assembkv Chairman Sumio Sakakibara;

Noboru Yamamoto, Chiaf of the Tourist and Industry Department;

and 45 other private citizens from the business and entertain-
ment fields on Oshii1ia Island.- and
WHEREAS, these vit;its -froin. our from Oshima
island which is becoming an annual affair is reflective
of their continuJLnq enthusiasm and efforts in helping to
do their share in sustaining a viable and meaningful
associr-Dition.., and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII, that it extends a warn. Aloha to our visitors
from Oshima Island and wishes them a safe, pleasant, and
rewarding trip.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairman of Hawaii
County ("ouncil be and is hereby requested to present this
Resolution. to Mayor Matsuri Ishii as evidence of the County
Of 11awaiis desire to continue to strive for an effective
and mutually beneficial Sister City association.
