WHEREAS, IIAR.L'YOSHI YJUI AGUCHI , President of Oshima--ya Comp any ,
Ltd., who was a resident and beloved friend from our Sister City
of Oshima Island, passed away on August 8, 1974; and
CoRiEREAS, during his life which covered a span of 68 rewarding
years he personified humility, enthusiasm, generosity, love and
Aloha to the many friends he made here in our County; and
VHEREA.S , Mr. :,,amaguchi was one of the prime movers and finan-
cial sponsors for the nurturing of the meaningful relationship
we now enjoy= with our Sister City of Oshima Island; and
TWTERZAS , over the past few years Mr. Kamaguchi at his own
expense has brought to Hilo the Anko dancers, other entertainers
and visitors to participate in our annual International Festival;
and
WHEREAS, his humble and unassuming presence will be profoundly
missed by his family and his many friends.
NOW, THEMi FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that in memory and in recognition of his efforts, his
gift of friendship and his accomplishments in helping to sustain
a meaningful Sister City relationship between Oshima Island and
the County of Hawaii, that this body hereby extends its condolences
with a deep sense of gratitude and appreciation to the family of
the late 11ARUYOSHI MIA.GUCHI.
BE IT FURTTTER RESOLVED that the Counter Clerk be and is hereby
instructed to send a true copy of this resolution to his eldest
son, Masahisa Kamaguchi, Mayor Matsuri Ishii of Oshima Island
and to the Hawaii Island Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
